Snuggled amidst the rural landscape of the Colonya Valley, Villa Llosia is set in wild, herb-scented countryside, yet is surprisingly close to the upbeat vibe of the traditional towns nearby.
An open-plan layout and bright décor combine to create a light and airy feel, wooden beams flow throughout the home, while furnishings are a stylish but unfussy blend of contemporary and traditional – from the ornate wood burner tucked in the corner, to the chunky wood dining table taking prime position centre stage. Tiled floors provide cool interiors during hot, summer days whilst all bedrooms have air-conditioning for a good night’s slumber.
A sliding door separates downstairs bedrooms from the rest of the spacious ground floor area and doors open out onto a pretty, shady terrace overlooking the pool – a perfect niche for enjoying a glass of something nicely chilled. As well as flourishing shrubs and colourful plants, a variety of fruit trees such as Grapefruits, Figs, Lemons, Oranges and Almonds, surround a lovingly tended lawn and equally inviting pool.
With direct access from the well equipped kitchen, an amazing, stone clad, wooden-beamed, terracotta-tiled summer kitchen, decorated with rustic plant pots and bucolic artefacts is home to a large, brick-built barbecue, where chefs and non-chefs alike will be clambering to relish the experience of cooking the evening meal.
Set at the far end of a narrow lane leading from the road to Alcudia, Villa Llosia is conveniently placed for easy access to both Pollenca and Alcudia, hence an excellent selection of amenities is just a short drive away: Tapas bars and eateries are scattered throughout narrow cobbled streets, embedded in the medieval ramparts of old Alcudia, interwoven between craft shops, ice cream parlours, shady plazas, pizzerias and some intriguing architecture dating as far back as the 14th Century. Long stretches of sandy beach at Playa de Muro, a fun waterpark, bustling street markets selling local produce, to a round on one of the island’s finer golf courses are all within easy reach - every age group is certainly catered for.
